Heteropneustes fossilis - Stringing catfish - Hunga

Description: It has four pairs of barbels and a very elongate base to its anal fin. The side are grey brown, becoming much darker dorsally.

Size: Upto 25-35cm

Habitat: rivers, tanks , pools with turbid/brackish water bodies

Breeding: egg leyers

Status: Indigenous
