As an environmentalist, I am very much interested to explore nature in my own way. This blog was prepared to share my knowledge on freshwater fish species in Sri Lanka with globally. I am Chathuranga Mullegama, Graduated from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura, Sri Lanka. I have studied Environmental Management Science, Forestry, Chemistry & Management as the main subjects for my first degree. Thereafter I have studied Master of Analytical chemistry at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka which was expanded my knowledge into the broad sector such as environmental chemistry, Natural product research, Hazardous chemical management, Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Management, Sustainable Development &, etc.
I have been actively involved in Municipal Solid Waste Management in a nongovernment organization for finding solutions for the problems they face while processing degradable solid waste into compost fertilizer. Thereafter I joined with one of the leading apparel manufacturer in Sri Lanka for an internship and expanded my knowledge to occupational health & Safety, Chemical Management & Zero discharge hazardous chemical project, Sustainability &, etc. Furthermore, I have joined with National Institute of Fundamental Studies for finding a natural product/ Natural Drug for Neuro transmittance diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson which is largely affected people with aging. Also, I have been working as a quality control analyst in a pharmaceutical company which is producing a large scale of medicines for both local and international markets.
When considering the environment and sustainable development I have actively involved in Web base Eco-tourism via conservation, organic base food & non-artificial food feed poultry production as a Naturalist in a large scale farm situated in Deniyaya Sri Lanka. Furthermore, I am currently involving in the construction environmental management by complies with legal framework in Sri Lanka.
